Dr. Marek Dobke graduated from the Medical Academy in Gdansk, Poland in 1974. He is board certified in Plastic Surgery both in the United States and Poland. Throughout his career, Dr. Dobke combined the practice of Plastic Surgery with research. He has developed a large practice in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery with a special interest and clinical expertise in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, facial rejuvenation and application of new technologies in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Dobke has been practicing in San Diego since 1989; he joined the faculty in the Division of Plastic Surgery after completing his Plastic Surgery training at UCSD (1987-1989).
Dr. Dobke and his associate Dr. Anne Wallace have been working for many years developing new techniques and bringing novel techniques of cosmetic breast surgery and body contouring to their practice. Overall, Dr. Dobke who is an experienced cosmetic surgeon, provides consultations and care involving all aspects of cosmetic surgery and medicine.
Dr. Dobke is a plastic surgery leader and he is directly involved in research leading to new cosmetic surgery modalities (stem cells, tissue fillers) and indirectly by providing guidance to his associates. Dr. Dobke’s clinical research interests include participation in clinical trials pertaining to new modalities in cosmetic surgery and to developing telemedicine programs for plastic surgery needs in Southern California. His multiple publications demonstrate his accomplishments and ability to link research laboratory achievements with what is offered to patients in daily practice. Dr. Dobke serves as the Plastic Surgery Residency Director at UCSD, he has been teaching others how to become plastic surgeons since 1989.
